The sympathetic Brit regularly delivers the latest in hot equipment and heavy riffs off his attic homestudio.

His audience love him for tips & tricks on sounds and playing styles, always presented on cutting edge elecronics.

Massaad also plays with the chart-topping progressive/djent bands Dorje and Toska, which have had number one success in the US and UK.

However, despite the rather heavy orientation of these bands, Rabea does not consider himself as a metal guitarist. His talent is far too vast to be reduced to just one genre.

For a long time, it didn’t look like a career as a guitarist. In his early years, Rabea played the drums.

“Thanks” to a leg injury that the passionate skateboarder sustained in the halfpipe, he was unable to operate his drumset for several months and thus filled this musical gap by picking up the guitar.

His strong sense of rhythm, which he had acquired from playing the drums, helped him to progress quickly. When he finally got his own guitar at the age of 16, the success story took its course.

By playing after bands like Extreme, Metallica or The Darkness as accurately as possible, Rabea acquired a razor-sharp technique.

Influenced by these contemporary acts, he eventually started writing his own songs and practised his skills as a songwriter.
