Björn Gelotte

bio

Swedish pioneers of Melodic Death Metal, In Flames, have been an absolute institution since their founding in 1990, evolving over time into one of the most well-known and influential bands in the genre.

Guitar mastermind Björn Gelotte has been with the band from the early years and witnessed how In Flames transitioned from smoky Swedish rock clubs to the main stages of international festivals.

As one of the creative pillars of In Flames, he has played a key role in the global success of the Swedish metal legends.

Initially playing drums, he shaped the legendary In Flames sound with his creative, driving grooves.

The albums The Jester Race and Whoracle from this era are now considered absolute genre classics and paved the way for the meteoric rise of the following years.

With the switch to lead guitar in 1998, Björn’s unmistakable signature also became pivotal to the style of the modern In Flames era, particularly on the band’s best-selling album Clayman, where traditional Melodic Death Metal sounds were skillfully combined with new, more melodic parts.

Since then, his distinctive playing style, characterized by aggressive, fast riffs and virtuosic lines, as well as his role as a composer, have contributed greatly to In Flames’ unmistakable trademark sound, which has propelled the band to the top of the metal realm.

However, alongside big headliner shows and prominent chart placements, Björn Gelotte still finds time for his other passions.

In collaboration with former bandmates, he forms the production team “H.O.R.D.E.”, which has already seen several successful releases in its portfolio.

In addition, he co-founded the restaurant 2112 in Gothenburg with his bandmate Peter Iwers, named after the legendary album by progressive rock icons Rush – the perfect combination of his passion for good food and music.

For his high-energy live shows and the rough life on tour, Björn Gelotte needs a cable he can rely on 100%, one that guarantees outstanding signal transmission both live and in the studio.
